Somaliland denies reports of Israeli military base

Somaliland has denied that Israel has a military base in its territory, saying there is only cooperation on training security forces. It also said there have been no talks about granting Israel a military presence in the country.
The statement comes after various reports suggested Israel was interested in establishing a military foothold in Somaliland, sparking widespread debate and political reaction.
Meanwhile, Somalia’s federal government has strongly opposed any reported ties between Israel and Somaliland, insisting that Somaliland remains part of the Federal Republic of Somalia.
According to Reuters, Somaliland was said to be seeking to expand cooperation with Israel, particularly in security, economy, agriculture, water, and technology.
