Puntland Announces New Security Measures
GAROWE – The Puntland administration has announced new security measures, stating that it will not allow any activities by officials or forces that do not fall under the Puntland administration within its territory.
Puntland officials said that the administration and security of Puntland regions are fully the responsibility of Puntland institutions, and that the protection of borders, airports, and key government sites will be strengthened.
The move comes amid political tensions between Puntland and the Somali federal government over constitutional issues and the country's governance system. Puntland has previously voiced concerns over some decisions made by the central government.
