Saddam Oday, who was inside the house at the time, said Israeli troops fired tear gas into the building and detained those inside before releasing them. He added that he did not see the soldiers detain the people responsible for the attack.

Luay Bayruti, the homeowner, said soldiers bound the hands and covered the eyes of those inside, beat them, and then released them. Bayruti said he was hit by a stone during the incident.

Israeli forces said they entered the home to remove what they called "violent agitators" and to protect the residents. They did not respond to questions about why they used tear gas or detained people.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned the violence in Qusra but described those involved as a "small group of violent agitators.
