The Iranian Red Crescent has submitted a letter to the International Criminal Court (ICC) requesting an investigation into a US airstrike in southern Iran. The strike reportedly hit a wedding party, killing four people, including a child, and injuring 67 others.

The Red Crescent said the attack occurred on Tuesday around 9:30 p.m. local time in the Kohistak area of Sirek, where civilians had gathered. The organization warned that the death toll could rise if the condition of the severely wounded worsens.

The letter to the ICC called for a special investigation, noting that the targeted location was a civilian gathering. The group raised concerns about the legality of the attack under international humanitarian law and called for a full independent inquiry.

The US military acknowledged awareness of reports about the strike and casualties but insisted its forces do not deliberately target civilians. The incident comes amid rising tensions between the US and Iran.
